LG Q6 (LG G6 mini) video teaser confirms July 11 announcement

LG has just released a video that points to an upcoming announcement of a new smartphone. Although the South Korean handset maker doesn't name the device that will be announced on July 11, we already know it's the LG Q6 aka LG G6 mini.

Another hint that LG will be launching the LG Q6 in just a few days can be found in the description of the video teaser: “A full, exQuisite view is what you need. Q-rious? July 11th. Coming soon.

So, if you're Q-rious about the LG Q6, then, by all means, stay tuned for the July 11 reveal. The smartphone will feature the same “Full Vision” (18:9 aspect ratio) display that debuted on the LG G6 model, but it will be smaller.

Reports claim LG Q6 should feature a 5.4-inch full HD (1080p) display, as well as a 1.4GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor and 3GB RAM. Other highlights of the phone that we've learned about include a 13-megapixel primary camera and Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system.

The smartphone was recently spotted in a benchmark's database with model number LG-M700. It's expected to be introduced in Europe initially, but it might be launched in other regions as well.

The top and bottom bezels are not as small as the G6, and the Snapdragon 430 is an old 28nm part. It will probably be the first low-midrange phone on the market with small(ish) bezels though, which is an achievement from LG. If the price is right, it could be a hit. I wish it had the Snapdragon 625 though...

I've noticed their phones drop price quite quick though, just buy 2-3 months after launch and they are much cheaper. G6 can be had for $400-ish brand new these days.

Snapdragon 430??? This is funny! Somebody would expect the 600 series on that at least.

Yeah 600 series would be an instant buy for me. Don't know about this...

Pretty much my sentiment as well. Snapdragon 625 would have made this G6 mini an instab buy for me. Snapdragon 430 is too underpowered for my usage.

If it had the dual camera it would have been disruptive. Still something that might excite mid range buyers as long as it isn't too expensive. Not sure I see the point in it though.
