LG G4c to be a compact version of LG's hero phone?

LG G4c to be a compact version of LG's hero phone?
Now that the LG G4 launched to a mostly enthusiastic initial reception, a petite version of it might be in tow. A Dutch retailer has listed a device by the name of LG G4c, its model number being LG-H525N. The release date posted, May 12, doesn't make much sense considering the device hasn't been announced, or otherwise acknowledged by LG, but the date might be a mistake on the retailer's part.

Otherwise, it isn't known what the compact LG G4 will offer in terms of design and specs. But if more manufacturers followed Sony's Xperia Compact blueprint, the world would have been a better place for those who'd like their handsets smaller, but non-compromised in terms of hardware power. But priced at around $330, this LG G4c will probably pack a modest configuration.

We'll see how things will pan out in the weeks after the LG G4's launch. The smartphone should reach US carriers in July.

Hope they do not create a mini in the name of compact.

It's just "C", G4C and Z3 Compact.

Please yes. 4.7 or 4.8" would be awesome. The G2 mini was 4.7" so it makes sense they'd keep it the same of slightly bigger. Maybe even up to 5" since the G4 is so much bigger.

LG loves big displays. G3's smaller version has 5", I think G4C will be the same.

I totally forgot there was a smaller G3. You could be right on the screen size but since it's a G4c instead of G4 S it could be something else.

Only Sony makes decent compact phones for their flagships. Phones like s5 mini, m8 mini and g2 mini were just overpriced midranger piggibacking on the reputation of the main flagships.

Couldnt agree more. Hopefully the LG G4 compact isnt a gimped down version of thier flagship. Should have min 2gb Ram and equally capable camera. Probably 5" with a FHD screen.

5" isn't a compact LOL. A compact phone should be about 4.5-4.6"

5" is compact compared to 5.5... the term 'compact' is scaling with the average size of a flagship.. last year it was 5.. this year, 5.5... personally i like 5.. a lot. i just hope this isn't another example of favoritism.. The Asus Zenfone2 really let me down with the 5" version... half the processor and half the ram? no thank you.

I'm hopeful since it's listed as a comapct instead of a mini. Maybe they'll take a play out of Sony's book and just shrink the size and leave the specs be.

I feel like they do that to force you to buy the flagship. I wouldn't be surprised if it was garbage again.

I am eager for this G4c, if ever, and give Sony a tap on its back that they should up the ante on making the best compact flagship since they popularized it with Z1c.

Agree with the above. A Compact would be great. A Mini would be just another in a long line of mediocre-to-modest mid-level phones trading in on their big-brother flagships' names. 4.7" 1080p screen, SD808 or 615, same camera(s), etc.

5 inch would be nice. Im currently using a 4.8 Galaxy S3 and it feels small.

I'm also using the S3. I like the size because I used a 3.8 inch HTC One V for almost two years.

Who said it's a compact? Saller version of LG's flagships have always been rubbish.

As long as all specs are kept including quantum display, i would say go for it. Bu given that the price, half of normal G4, seems like a big no.

" The release date posted, May 12, doesn't make much sense considering the device hasn't been announced" - maybe that's when it's going to be announced?

Will be sweet if they manage to put a S808 in that thing.
