LG G3 getting tested for Android 7.0 update?
The LG G3 was launched by LG in May 2014 with Android 4.4.2 installed. Since then, it has been updated to Android 5.0, Android 5.1 and Android 6.0. For some phones, that would be the end of the line. However, a Geekbench benchmark test dated today reveals that the two-year old flagship is being tested with Android 7.0. on board.

The LG G5 and LG G4 should both receive Android 7.0, and the Las Vegas line probably would include the LG G3 along with them. And as it turned out, the first handset to come with Nougat out of the box was the recently released LG V20.

As far as the Geekbench test is concerned, the single-core score was 929 with a multi-core score of 2977. Keep in mind that the phone is powered by the quad-core 2.46GHz Snapdragon 801 SoC. That chipset was the cat's meow back in 2014 when it powered a number of Android flavored high-end handsets.

My wife has this phone and I'm sure 7.0 would be a nice refresh for her.

And Google said that Nougat is not compatible for Nexus 5, regarding that the Snapdragon 801 and Snapdragon 800 are basically twins

Dude wth. I have the g4 but g3 jas replacement battery as well. I carry a replacement battery in my wallet. No f**king cables or chargers or panicking for a wall outlet. I swap on the go and in 1 minute going from 10% to 100% they cost 6bucks shipped. I almost never plug it in. Always swapping with 2 other batteries. I run my screen at full brightness all day long. Screw cable charging

Won't happen Sony was also testing the Z3 and Google put an end to that by not releasing the drivers for the SD801 so this is non news cause Google killed the devices with the 801 by doing this.http://www.androidauthority.com/android-7-0-snapdragon-800-801-712930/

I am becoming a LG Lover!!! Their continuing updates vs others.....like sammsoon....are making me a repeat buyer. Unlike my last couple of Galaxy phones, which had like a couple of updates, LG keeps their phones updated, my G3 is up to 6....if its upgraded to 7 !!!!! HOLY Cow Pies!!! 6.0 improved my battery life noticeably.

What we are probably seeing is an unofficial Cyanogenmod 14 rom. Or someone who is rooted, and edited their build.prop file. Either way, this is not an official LG test.
