LG Cosmos 2 officially announced, can be had for $30 starting July 14th
As if to prove the oft-forgotten these day thesis that not everything is smartphones, Verizon today announced that the humble working class LG Cosmos 2 will be available July 14th, just as we were tipped a few days ago.

A successor to the original LG Cosmos, the handset features a four-row QWERTY keyboard, which automatically makes it an enticing messaging device.

Indeed, Verizon's Mobile Email service will come preinstalled - it allows you to send and receive attachments in various formats, plus you can search your inbox and mail contacts.

The service will be free for the first ten times you use it, then you can continue for $5 a month. There is also a document viewer to check out all these attachments.

The LG Cosmos 2 features a 1.3MP rear camera, 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth, and a microSD card slot. Not much else going for it, but the price is more than reasonable at $29.99, after a $50 mail-in rebate in the form of a debit card. This price, of course, is with a two-year Verizon contract. The LG Cosmos 2 will be available in several colors to spice up its otherwise mundane specs.
