India gets its own unveiling event for the OnePlus 2 on July 28th; new service centers opened

As you probably know by now, the OnePlus 2 will be unveiled on July 27th using a VR presentation. OnePlus has already sent out a ton of Google Cardboard headsets for the occasion. While the July 27th unveiling can be viewed globally, it takes place at 7:30 am Indian time on July 28th. Therefore, India is on tap to get its own unveiling later in the day on July 28th. The event is scheduled to take place in Delhi.

The OnePlus One had a rocky year in India. After being launched in the country, Cyanaogen announced an exclusive deal with Indian manufacturer Micromax. That resulted in the Cyanogen powered OnePlus One getting banned in the country. When a judge realized that Micromax planned to use the OS on its Yu line of low-priced phones, the ban was lifted. Eventually, OnePlus created its own Oxygen OS and split with Cyanogen (less messy than Blake Shelton's split with Miranda Lambert).

In preparation of the launch, OnePlus has teamed up with Regenrsis to provide service for OnePlus One and OnePlus 2 owners in India. There will be nine new service centers opened in Bangalore, Chennai, Cochin, Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai (Andheri and Lamington), New Delhi and Kolkata. Last month, it was announced that owners of the OnePlus One who have a phone in a service center for more than 15 days, will receive a free three month extended warranty.

Thanks for the tip!
