Hola! Cortana is now available in Spanish?

Cortana has been a worldly traveler the last couple of days. Allegedly seen on German and Italian Windows Phone 8.1 handsets on Saturday, the virtual personal assistant has now been seen doing her thing in Spain. In that country, hackers who were able to get Cortana on their handsets received transit reminders in their native language.

While screenshots showing Cortana in Spanish have been seen, the original source of the story (windowsphoneapps.es) said that they were unable to replicate it. Most likely the images are related to Windows Phone 8.1 Update 2, which is expected to bring the Alpha version of the personal assistant to more regions of the world.

Just the other day, we told you about a researcher who used a random question generator to toss questions to Cortana, Siri and Google Now. The latter offered useful information for a third of the questions asked it. Siri was second with a meaningful response 25.8% of the time. Cortana finished third with her answers providing insight on just 11.7% of the questions asked.
