Helping Haiti single now available on Nokia's Music Store - donating fees as well
Even as the building process commences in the aftermath of the earthquake that rocked Haiti, Nokia has finally made the Helping Haiti charity single available for download in the Nokia Music Store. For those who aren't aware, it is actually a cover if REM's popular “Everybody Hurts” single which is sung by some of today's most popular music artists and was arranged by American Idol's own Simon Cowell for the UK.  All of the money generated from its sales, even if you use Comes with Music service, will be split between two funds in the UK. REM has decided to waive all royalties that even include ones generated by digital downloads while Sony & Syco are donating 100 percent of the receipts. Nokia is doing their part by “donating our fee and paying publishing fees and the Comes With Music downloads are reported on and will be treated in the same way as our A La Carte section.”
