HTC Vive smartphone shown in video?

The Vive brading is well-known in the tech world, but it has nothing to do with the smartphone industry. However, it wouldn't comes as a surprise if HTC will want to take advantage of the hype created by its VR headset and introduce a smartphone with the Vive branding.

A new promotional video, which has nothing to do with the Ocean Note smartphone that will probably be unveiled at HTC's launch event scheduled for January 12, has just been posted by Evan Blass. The video shows how the Taiwanese company plans to provide customers with more customization options for their smartphones by offering them different types of cases.

One of the phones that appear in the video features the HTC Vive brand, but we can't say for sure whether it's a handset or just a simple case meant to protect a HTC smartphone.

The promo video highlights a new incentive by HTC, as the company could introduce a new customization program in the same vein as Moto Maker.

Unfortunately, there's no telling whether or not this promotional video, and the products shown in it, will go live next week when HTC scheduled its launch event.
