HTC U12+ shipping now from HTC and Amazon with no delays
Last week, there was consternation among Amazon customers who pre-ordered the HTC U12+ from Amazon. That's because a system error made it appear as though a small number orders had been cancelled, and speculation spread that Amazon had reserved units for customers without informing them that the device had been backordered. At the time, Amazon's web page for the HTC U12+ said "Temporarily out of stock...Order now and we'll deliver when available. We'll e-mail you with an estimated delivery date as soon as we have more information. Your account will only be charged when we ship the item."

Well that is all water under the bridge. Both Amazon and HTC are shipping the phone right now. HTC will sell you the 64GB model unlocked, or locked for AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile subscribers. The unit is priced at $799.99, or you can make 24 monthly payments of $34 through HTC Financing. Color options are Ceramic Black and Translucent Blue. HTC will also sell you an unlocked variant with 128GB for $849, or 24 monthly payments of $36. The 128GB model is available in Translucent Blue only. Shipping is free.

Amazon is offering the 64GB unlocked unit for $799.99. The only color option from the etailer is Translucent Blue. Shipping is also free from Amazon.

The HTC U12+ features a 6-inch Super LCD 6 display with a resolution of 1440 x 2880 (QHD+), which works out to an 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood you'll find the Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform with the Adreno 630 GPU. 6GB of RAM is inside, and there is a dual camera setup on back (12MP + 16MP). The selfie snapper weighs in at 8MP, and keeping the lights on is a 3500mAh battery. The phone is equipped with Edge Sense 2 allowing users to squeeze the sides of the unit to open certain apps. And the device carries an IP68 certification rating, which means that it can be submerged in nearly 5-feet of water for as long as 30 minutes and remain unscathed.
