On Monday, HTC USA started updating its U11flagship phone to Android 8 Oreo. Today, the company is bringing Oreo toanother smartphone - the U11 Life, a new mid-range handset launched in earlyNovember with Android 7 Nougat on board.

For now, only the unlocked version of the HTC U11 Life(which works on AT&T and T-Mobile, plus their prepaid brands) is beingupdated to Android Oreo. The T-Mobile variant of the device is certainlygetting Oreo, too, but it's not clear when this will happen.

The U11 Life is HTC's first mid-range phone to come withEdge Sense. Borrowed from the high-end U11, this feature lets you interact withthe device just by squeezing it - for example, you can launch the camera appand take photos this way. Edge Sense aside, the HTC U11 Life offers plenty ofattractive features (for its price point), including dust- andwater-resistance, a 5.2-inch 1080p display, a Snapdragon 630 processor, andUSonic earbuds in the box.

HTC is selling the U11 Life for $349. At the moment, the smartphoneis available in only one color version: Sapphire Blue.
