HTC One M9 on T-Mobile gets Android 5.1 update with improved battery life, Google Wallet, and Anti-T
Now that the unlocked HTC One M9, its developer edition, and the AT&T version have all gotten the Android 5.1 update, M9 owners on the magenta-colored T-Mobile's network can join the party as well! The carrier is pushing build 2.7.531.6 as an over-the-air update to US handsets as we speak. M9 users are in for a meaty 833MB download we're talking, so you best be having some fast Wi-Fi beaming around you!

In addition to installing a recent version of Lollipop (though the latest one is Android 5.1.1), the update also brings battery life improvements, a pre-loaded Google Wallet app, and anti-theft protection that guards against unauthorized factory resetting. To be able to work, the latter requires lockscreen security to be enabled, and at least one Google account to be logged in.

If the Android 5.1 update still hasn't reached your smartphone, check periodically from the About > Software updates menu until you get the familiar download prompt.
