HTC A5 / Desire 8 to have seven color versions?

As we told you earlier this week, HTC’s upcoming Desire 8 seems to be codenamed A5. The handset’s existence was confirmed by HTC China, but official details on its availability and pricing are yet to be revealed.

According to @evleaks, the new smartphone should have five color versions: white, black, red, purple and yellow. We heard that there would be orange and cyan models, too, so that's a total of seven possible color versions.

@evleaks also reveals some alleged specs of the A5 / Desire 8, which are a bit more interesting than the previously rumored ones. Notably, the new device is supposed to have 1.5GB of RAM instead of 1GB, while its processor should be a quad-core Snapdragon 400 (MSM-8928) clocked at 1.6GHz, not at 1.2GHz.

That aside, we should expect the Desire 8 / A5 to feature a 5.5-inch 720p SuperLCD2 display, BoomSound speakers, 5MP front-facing camera, a 13MP rear camera on the back, 8GB of internal memory, and MicroSD card support. Android 4.4 KitKat with Sense 6.0 UI should be on board.

It’s said that HTC will launch the new Desire not just in Asia, but also in Europe and the US. AT&T and Sprint might sell the handset Stateside at some point, but there is no confirmation on this yet.
