Google says that the Pixel 2/2 XL MMS issues have been fixed, but users are still complaining

Some Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL users are still not receiving MMS messages

The Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL have had numerous problems. There was the burn-in issue with the screen, clicking sounds that came from the phones' speakers, microphones that were cutting out during phone calls, and the inability to receive or download an MMS message on both models. Google claims to have fixed the latter problem, although several owners of the 2017 Pixel handsets disagree.

In the Google Product Forums for the Pixel 2 XL, a Google employee named Pankaj Kanwar (who was representing the Pixel team) put up a post that said, "Thanks everyone for reporting this issue. It should now be resolved. Please let us know if you continue to encounter the problem." Many of those who responded to Kanwar's comment said that they are still experiencing the same inability to receive MMS messages. A few can't even send such a message on their Pixel 2 or Pixel 2 XL.

Based on the posts that we read, it appears that this issue is affecting those who are customers of AT&T or the latter's pre-paid Cricket service (which uses the AT&T network). There is a workaround for those who haven't been helped by Google's fix. This involves disabling the "Enhanced 4G LTE Mode" by going to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile network > Advanced.

Even if the workaround does allow Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL users to see their MMS messages, it shouldn't stop them from complaining to their carrier and to Google about having to disable the Enhanced 4G LTE Mode.

This phone is always having issues. And let's not mention the shady customer support. They need to get this together.

When I had a Pixel, every time I had to restart it, I always had to fix the settings. I'm on cricket and that was a pain for sure. And it's not just an Android thing, this is the only phone this happened with.

Group messages are still a thing. I guess you never do those?

Yes group messages are still a thing....on messaging apps like whatsapp, etc. MMS? Not so much. I personally haven't used it for sending multimedia in 5 years.

i do, on internet based chat/messaging services. WhatsApp and the likes. never used MMS(tried couple times), and yes i used phone since those early days, but it's too bothersome and limited. today, why one use MMS over say, WhatsApp?

Their customer service SUCKS! I returned a 2 month old 128 gb pixel 2 XL because it was getting burning hot, rebooting and freezing. They had me send it back right away. I was told that I was receiving a new replacement device via overnight mail, then I find out that I'm getting a refurbished device in 5 days!! I DMed them and after 1 response back they never responded back. It's been 2 days now.

This is how Google often makes mistakes, especially with respect to the latest gadgets. Constantly there are some flaws.
