Google offers a deal on the Google Home smart speaker just in time for Mother's Day
If someone asked you last year what a smart speaker is, you might have said it was the valedictorian of the Harvard graduating class. But by now you should know that this is a product containing a speaker integrated with a virtual assistant. For example, the Amazon Echo combines a speaker with the latest AI assistant superstar Alexa. The Harman Kardon Invoke will be out some time this year with a premium speaker mixed with Cortana. And there is a rumor that Apple will create a smart speaker of its own using Beats speaker technology and Siri.
From now until Saturday May 13th (which is the day before Mother's Day, hint, hint) you can purchase the Google Home for $114, which is a $15 or 11.6% discount off the usual price of $129. Ending the deal the day before Mother's Day is a reminder from Google not to be a schmuck. The search giant is essentially saying that you should buy something nice for your mother, and by the way she'd probably like a Google Home. With the Google Home, your mom can walk in to her house, say a few commands, and have her smart appliances quickly adjusted to her desired settings.
You can see the Google Home in action by viewing one of Google's ads for the device. Simply click on the video at the top of the story. And if you're interested in making Mom happy on May 14th, tap on the sourcelink.
