The original Google Pixel was a great phone and a surprisingly solid entry for a device that was the first official "Google phone". Not only did it deliver a very solid and lightning-fast Android experience — something we were already used to seeing on Nexus devices — but it also had a very, very good camera that still holds its own today. We'd venture as far as to say that, in 2018, it's a great idea to grab an OG Pixel instead of a midranger of questionable quality.

And, of course, when we see a 1st gen Pixel at a midrange price, we are sure to report it for that reason. B&H is currently selling a limited number of black Pixels for $330 (add $100 if you want the 128 GB model) in new condition. It's unlocked and will work with all 4 major carriers.

The original Pixel and Pixel XL will be getting Android P, which will release later this year. If you are feeling adventurous, they do support the developer preview beta right now. This will, allegedly, be the last major Android update for these phones, but they will still get monthly security patches all the way until late in 2019.

Don't forget with this OG Pixel, you get UNLIMITED full resolution uncompressed uploadsFOR LIFE to Google Photos. I have over 1TB of photos and videos I have uploaded from my Pixel. That would cost me $10/month or $120/year of Google One space I don't have to pay for. This is for any photo or video you upload through your Pixel. I have transferred photos and videos from my DSLR to my Pixel via USB cable to I can upload them at full resolution to Google Photos/One and they also don't count against my capacity cap.
