If you're looking for a deal on a Windows Phone 8.1 handset, the Microsoft Store is offering the AT&T Microsoft Lumia 640 for $69. That is a $10 savings from the $79 that the handset had been priced at. And in case you're worried about being left behind when Windows 10 Mobile comes along, this phone will be updated to the new version of Microsoft's mobile OS.

The Microsoft Lumia 640 features a 5-inch LCD display, carrying a resolution of 720 x 1280 (HD). This works out to a 294ppi pixel density. The Snapdragon 400 SoC is driving the unit, containing a quad-core 1.2GHz CPU and the Adreno 306 GPU. 1GB of RAM is inside, along with 8GB of internal storage. Those seeking additional memory can access the 128GB capacity microSD slot. After all, that is exactly what it is there for. The back to front camera combo weighs in at 8MP/.9MP, and a 2500mAh battery keeps the lights on.

According to Microsoft's Scandinavian General Manager Ossi Korpela, the Lumia 640 will be one of the first Lumia model to receive the Windows Mobile 10 update. You might recall that the executive characterized the device as an affordable high-end model. At $69, affordable is certainly the word we'd use to describe this deal. And yes, this is the off-contract price.
