Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ named top smartphones on the market by Consumer Reports

Ths Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ are the current top smartphones money can buy, well ahead of all the competition, claims testing publication Consumer Reports.

Samsung's latest flagships have secured the two top spots on CR's list thanks to their beautiful design, great battery life, vibrant displays, and “stunning” cameras.

The outlet's findings, after rigorous testing, also indicate that the S8 and S8+ are among the toughest high-end smartphones, successfully passing a dunk tank test, which was last year failed by the rugged S7 Active. As far as all-glass, almost bezel-less, premium devices go, we can confirm that the newest from Samsung is more hard-boiled than we expected, as the S8 fared arguably better than the G6 in our recent drop test.

Despite mostly praising the new Galaxies, Consumer Reports also notes that it found the placement of the fingerprint sensor on both to be on the awkward side. The report says that, during their time with the phones, the testers found themselves “repeatedly poking around to locate it—and smudging the camera lens in the process.”

The Galaxy S8+ takes two top spot on CR's list of the best smartphones on the market, previously occupied by the Galaxy S7 edge (now at third place). The S8 comes at second, while the G6 and the iPhone 7 Plus occupy the fourth and fifth places, respectively.

We've heard that last year. Everyone needs to stop being so sure of every phone until it actually comes out.

I believe the S7 was on top of that list even after the iPhone 7 was released, so what makes you this confident that the iPhone 8 will take that spot?

The S8 and S8plus are the best handsets on the market today nothing tops these period. The Note8 in September will destroy the iPhone8 which is nothing more than a Galaxy iPhone.

Mxy and cnour will be in danger of dehydrating, but will ultimately pull a Trump, and decide it's fake news. Reality is more enjoyable if it's multiple choice.

Tedkord once again in denial of the Samesung S8. It's not even that good of a phone.

Thank you for illustrating my point. Considering the headline and content of this article, it looks like you're the one in denial.

You never had a point. I'll take the G6 before I take the MolassesUI of a Samsung phone.

It's absolutely your right to not choose the best if you don't want it.

Saying the S8 is not that of a good phone in an article that says the S8 ranked top smartphone in the market? Wow, you need to stop making yourself look like an idiot. Have some self pity.

He can't help himself, it just burns too badly. I don't even like the S8, but can admit it's overall the best phone there is.

No problem. I've got the second best phone, and plan to buy the next best phone (Note 8) once it's released.

S8(+) picked up where the Note 7 left off software and optimization wise... Buttery smooth performance and good battery life... Can't wait to see what the Note provides.
