Flipboard 4.0 introduces Smart Magazines, a new way to customize your news feed

If Flipboard is your go-to news app, you'll be pleased to know it now features more options that will allow you to organize world's stories curated by experts. Dubbed Smart Magazines, the new tool features a “shelf space,” the Home carousel, which enables quick access to relevant content about your favorite subjects.

You can pick the topics that interest you most by swiping left. Once you select the topic, you can go even deeper to narrow down the articles that will show up in your news feed. Keep in mind that while the General Stories about the topic you select will be turned on by default, you can disable them anytime.

As soon as you finish personalizing your topics of interest, Flipboard will generate a Smart Magazine tailored specifically for you, which will bring up similar stories clustered together.

Also, Flipboard 4.0 comes with a new option that will allow you to build your own Custom Magazine. Simply create a personal or group magazine and add your favorite stories.

The Home carousel will show up to nine Smart Magazines, even if you can create more. You will be able to see the rest in your profile area. Flipboard's algorithms will learn from what you follow and add, so you should get a better experience the more you use the new app.
