Facebook Live gains closed captions in the latest update

Last month, Facebook Live got an important update that added new ways to interact with friends on either Android or iOS devices. Today, new improvements for Facebook Live have been released, which are meant to improve live broadcasts.

The aim of this update is to make Facebook Live accessible to a larger audience. The ability to include closed captions in Facebook Live will allow people who are deaf or hard of hearing to experience live videos.

After the update, whenever the captioning settings are turned on, you will be able to see closed captions on Live broadcasts, if they are available.

If you're a publisher who is using Facebook Live, then you can already add captions to non-live videos when you upload them on your page, but you can also use speech recognition service to automatically create captions for videos on your Page.

According to Facebook, daily watch time for Live broadcasts has grown by more than 4x over the past year. With the latest update, the team behind Facebook Live hopes that more users will take part in Live broadcasts.
