The European version of the Galaxy Note has just received an incremental maintenance update that squashes bugs, eliminates security loopholes, and last but not least, it introduces a trove of small but nonetheless useful features.

Probably the biggest issue that was dealt away with is the recently-unraveled DeX connectivity issue which put users at risk while using their phone with the DeX dock. Aside from that, the phone has also been updated with a new Secure Wi-Fi feature, which is Samsung's own VPN service that's steadily rolling out to more and more Galaxy devices thanks to software updates.

Thanks to it, all outgoing web traffic gets encrypted when you use open public Wi-Fi networks, making it hard for

Here's everything that arrived with the new update:

  • A new Secure Wi-Fi function has been added.
  • Calendar, Gallery, Reminder and Voice Recorder have been updated.
  • Samsung DeX error has been resolved.

As usual, a notification for an available update should pop up on your device, but you can always head to the Settings menu, navigate to Software Update, and manually check if one is available for your phone. Don't get disappointed if one doesn't show up immediately though - it will come eventually.
