Entire Sony Xperia Z5 line already gets price cut for pre-orders in the U.K.
Over the weekend, we told you how Sony had started asking for the equivalent of $910 USD to pre-order the 32GB Sony Xperia Z5. The 32GB Sony Xperia Z5 Premium could be reserved for $1062 USD, and the 32GB Sony Xperia Z5 Compact pre-orders were priced at $834 USD. But after hearing feedback, both polite and rude, Sony has already decided to cut the pre-order price of all three models.

The 32GB Sony Xperia Z5 can now be pre-ordered for the equivalent of $840 USD. That is a 7.7% haircut. The pre-order price for the 32GB Sony Xperia Z5 Premium has been cut 9.4% to the equivalent of $962 USD. The largest cut, 21%, was for Sony Xperia Z5 Compact pre-orders. The phone can now be reserved for $656 USD.

Keep in mind that these prices, both the original and new ones, come from Sony's U.K. website. Some might still consider these prices to be high, and it doesn't change our original premise about Sony's desire to be the premium Android manufacturer.

The old price for the Compact was ludicrous. Good to know Sony rethink their decision.

Upgrades is expected but price at launch should be the same as last year, just like samsung GS6 price at launch is the same or not far from GS5 last years. Now z5 and z5c is not the one with 4k screen and its priced more expensive than z3 last year? Rip off! And premium wannabe indeed..

I'm trying to figure this out, but are you guys just deriving the price by converting pounds to US dollars?

Something that annoys me about PA articles. mentions UK price but in US currency and no UK currency. Very clever. Plus everything in the UK is more expensive than in the US

Yeah, PA should write those country's currency prices (atleast in brackets), we'll convert it if required. Because of this I've to convert it again into those specific currencies.

Ultra will come at Q1'16, come with SD820, but only 2k display, wish they make Z5 Ultra Premium with 4k display

No company wants to be like Apple, especially since Steve Jobs has passed.

You guys are funny as hell... Is it so hard to google a few currencies? I think not... So, let me sum it up for everyone here who's interested: Z5p = 962$ = 861€ = 630£ Z5 = 840$ = 752€ = 550£ Z5c = 656$ = 587€ = 430£

Well if Z5 premium will cost $962 with tax in my country, it will still be more affordable than S6 edge 64gb that costs around $1300 on launching date while iphone 6+ 64gb is still currently being sold for $1067. I made the comparison only with the 64gb variants because 128gb s6 and s6 edge are vapor wares in my location unless you get a grey unit without warranty and a 128gb iphone 6+ will still cost you an arm and a leg.

A certain PA commenter before said that we shouldn't convert UK to USD as they have larger tax compared to other countries. I'll just wait for my country's local price on October before making comparison with the previous z3+ and z3 compact pricing.
