Deal: Lenovo's 8-inch smart display with Google Assistant gets a rare 60% discount
Lenovo smartly decided to buy Motorola to have a foothold in the US market, but smartphones aren't the only products the Chinese company is selling in the country. The smart display market only at the beginning, but we already have a couple of major players, including Google and Facebook.

If you're not particularly keen on having a Google or Facebook smart display and all you're looking for is a great deal on such a device, Lenovo has you covered. In fact, you can find the Lenovo 8-inch smart display on Rakuten for less than half price.

Usually selling for $200, the smart display costs just $100 right now, but Rakuten members can grab one for just $83 by adding the LEN17 discount code during checkout. Of course, free shipping is available as well, so that's all you have to pay to get the smart display.

The deal is available until the end of June 23, so there's still time to decide if you're not convinced that you need such a device in your home. Lenovo's smart display features Google Assistant support and an 8-inch display. You can use it to control your connected smart home devices or cast media into Chromecast built-in devices, allowing you to watch videos from any room.

$83 for this is a steal. It has really good sound, far field microphones that can hear you across the room with music on, or the TV on. Plus it's 8" touch screen display has the same resolution as the Echo Show 2. Now that web apps are supported you will see a lot more voice integrated web apps that will be running on these smart displays. At that price this is really worth it.
