CyanogenMod Inc.: “we have a new hardware partner”

29comments
Speculation that CyanogenMod, now a stand-alone company, is serious with its ambitions to enter the smartphone industry has been raging for a while now, and we've covered pretty much all there is to it.

Of course, as is to be expected, there was always a missing link – an actual, official confirmation that this is indeed the case, instead of telling, but ultimately unconfirmed signs. This nagging issue has now been taken care of by the folks behind CyanogenMod who have taken to Google+ to share the news of an upcoming hardware partnership:

So while we are still in the dark as to who might that partner be, we at least now know that the CM team means business. Of course, this doesn't exactly preclude us from jumping onto the speculation bandwagon, and noting that at this point it does seem very likely that Chinese Oppo will be the chosen one. Or the other way around. Either way, it would appear that the future holds some rather exciting events for all of us.

As always, stick around and rest assured that as soon as we know more, so will you.
