Casio Pro Trek F20 smartwatch with Android Wear 2.0 hits the shelves for $500

The highly-anticipated Casio Pro Trek F20 smartwatch has just made its debut on the market. Unveiled back in February at Mobile World Congress, the smartwatch is now offered in the United States for $500.

Potential customers can pick this one up via Amazon, in either black or orange. The good news about the sequel to the Pro Trek F10 is the fact that you can immediately upgrade its operating system to Android Wear 2.0.

Specs-wise, Casio's smartwatch is more than decent thanks to the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 chipset inside, coupled with 512MB RAM and 4GB internal storage.

The wearable device features a 1.32-inch dual layer display and has military grade STD-810G certification, which makes it resistant to water (up to 50 meters of water). According to Casio, the Pro Trek F20 should last you for up to two days on a single charge, or up to one month when in Timepiece mode.

Another selling point of the smartwatch is the GPS that works with the full-color map display in offline mode. Casio Pro Trek F20 is fully compatible with smartphones running Android versions 4.3 and later, as well as iPhones 5 and beyond powered by iOS 8.2 or above.

On a side note, Casio launched a limited edition of the Pro Trek F20, which features a sapphire display and a slightly different coating that makes it feel like a luxury accessory. Only 500 units will be produced in either black or blue color.
