Brand new design, software and camera combo tipped for Sony's next Xperia flagship
We've barely cooled off from the Xperia Z4 announcement the other day - an upgraded version of the Z3 that is so far scheduled for Japan only - when rumors about an eventual Z5 started flowing, and now a mysterious tip about a thorough Sony mobile camera overhaul appears.
Famed leakster Ricciolo, who has been spot on with his leaks and predictions so far, especially when it comes to Sony, tweeted what looks a deliberately smudged screenshot, touting a "new Camera/sensor/lens/software" combo, but also a fresh "design/identity" for an upcoming Sony flagship, too. We hope the brand new camera set and phone exterior will come sooner rather than later, as Ricciolo is also including the hashtag sequence #futureflagnotthatfar in the tweet.
As for what will be new about the camera, we'd wager to guess it might include the fresh IMX230 sensor, and maybe optical image stabilization for the first time in a Sony handset. If the overhauled design looks anything like the dreamy renders that leaked not long ago, the future looks bright for Sony fans.
