BlackBerry kicks off May security patch rollout
The Canadian company recently published its Android Security Bulletin for the month of May, which contains information abut the multiple vulnerabilities it addresses.
Keep in mind that the update is aimed a BlackBerry smartphones powered by Android and purchased from ShopBlackBerry. Carrier-branded phones will be getting the update later on, as they are dependent on their rollout schedules.
Aside from the exploits and vulnerabilities patched by Google, BlackBerry addressed some of its own security holes that were reported by users and researchers alike.
For more information about everything that BlackBerry fixed in this patch, don't forget to read Android Security Bulletin released by the Canadian company over the weekend.
Since it doesn't have too many Android devices available on the market, BlackBerry is almost always the first OEM to deliver monthly security patches. Although April was an exception in the fact that it came much later than expected, it looks like the Canadian company has been able to overcome any setback that would prevent it to release the May security patch ahead of any other non-Google OEM.
