BlackBerry CEO John Chen takes a jab at the Apple iPhone 6 Plus, claims one can't easily bend the Passport

BlackBerry CEO John Chen takes a jab at the Apple iPhone 6 Plus, claims one can't easily bend the Passport
BlackBerry already unveiled its latest premium device, the Porsche Design P'9983, and is currently holding an event, where it is showcasing the square-ish BlackBerry Passport with 3GB of RAM aboard and the most recent software goodnesses of the company. It did not take John Chen, the current CEO of the Ontario-based maker, long to make a jab at the record-breaking Apple iPhone 6.

Chen revealed that it won't be as easy to bend a BlackBerry Passport as an iPhone 6. This, of course, is a direct jab regarding the numerous earlier reports that the Apple iPhone 6 Plus is quite fragile and will easily bend if you apply enough force

Shots have been fired, but are all of them on target? Despite being aimed at enterprise customers, the BlackBerry passport will still have to compete on a pretty fierce, iPhone-dominated market.

You can bash and talk about banning apple all day however apple isn't ripping anyone off, we (the people) who support apple know exactly what it is that we are getting our selfs into with apple product.

No you don't. If you truly did, you wouldn't pay twice or three or four times as much for a product. With Apple you are basically buying a gift basket every time you shop for produce. Yes a gift basket is pretty but if you are just going to eat the produce just use a plain plastic produce bag. You are basically paying Apple to pick the fruits for you and pretty it up. Anyway you slice it, you SHOULD not be okay with paying QHD prices for a 750p screen. Nor should you be okay with paying 6gb prices for 1gb of ram. It doesn't matter how well made the pre made desktop is. If they are charging you 10 times the internal parts, you either learn how build your own PC or you buy a cheaper one.

"You can bash and talk about banning apple all day however apple isn't ripping anyone off," Check the specs of a Mac, Macbook vs a custom built/configured PC or laptop....and try again. I can go to cyberpowerpc.com and put together either with equal or better specs for less than any Apple PC or laptop. How about the iPhone vs just about any other smartphone and try again. Apple wasnt afraid to take risks with the orig iPhone......but ever since they have been playing it safe. When did the iPhone get NFC or mirroring or better notifications or just about anything thats already been established....

Yeah, put it in a similar chassis, which is XPS 15, and it will cost the same or even more.....

Now, with this point, I agree with you, Arte. Apple makes an inferior product with less than premium materials and charges exorbitant prices for their products.

Watched the event, I gotta say that John Chen is a pretty funny guy. Companies need more CEO's like him, not those retard-looking strict ones.

Yeah, people think of Chen as a strict Type A guy but he is funny. I always imagine him saying those lines like he was a late night show host. Very funny guy.

Quite a bit younger and a little rounder in the face, but I see it too. Good comparison.

I would have highlighted the Australian hacking incident and the celebrity photo leak fiasco saying that iOS has the most insecure services on the market.

Let's see. Apple makes a billion dollars in profits every couple weeks. Blackberry loses a billion dollars of market value every few months. Keep laughing Chen.

I'm a Apple shareholder not a iPhone owner. As a Apple shareholder, I'm wiling to bet my money by continuing to own the stock, that if there is a problem with build quality, I'm sure Apple will get it fix. Just like when there was a issue with iPhone 4 antenna. No company's product is perfect. IPhone owners that don't put a case on a $600 to $900 phone, not sure what to tell them except buy a case for your investment.

And as a share holder......you might as well be lumped in the same boat as iFans. Difference is you have more of a vested interest that isnt merely fanboyism.... I had Apple stock once upon a time, not alot.....but I never once defended them when they were not up to par. This is one of those times.

As a shareholder of any stock that sells a product or service, you learn that no company is perfect. Can you name a perfect product or perfect company? If Apple has build quality issues the 6 and 6+, this will not be like GM key ignition where it gets ignored for years.Apple will get it fix, and issue cases or recall the defective phones. Apple is not Target. They will handle this issue quick.

I don't think BB is in a position to be bashing anyone right now.
