After Friday's announcement from BlackBerry that it is writing off over $900 million in BlackBerry Z10 inventory, a picture from a report published in India on Saturday shows a new BlackBerry device. According to the report, the phone is from BlackBerry's C-Series or Cafe Series, also known as the Americano.

The new series is supposed to include one full-touch and one QWERTY equipped model. The rumored specs reveal this to be a rather lightweight device with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 CPU under the hood and a 4.2 inch screen with 720 x 1280 resolution. There is some speculation that this could be the BlackBerry Z5, which would be the companion phone to the already launched QWERTY equipped BlackBerry Q5.

Just last week, BlackBerry introduced the BlackBerry Z30, the most powerful BlackBerry model yet and the first to sport a 5 inch screen. Still, in light of yesterday's announcement that it was laying off 40% of its workforce (4500 employees) and focusing on the enterprise end of its business, we really have to wonder if BlackBerry is going to spend the money to release another model that is all too similar to the one that was just written off the books to the tune of $900 million.
