BlackBerry 10.3.3 update is causing problems for BlackBerry 10 handsets

Starting last November, BlackBerry rolled out OS version 10.3.3 for its BlackBerry 10 series of handsets. While the company turned to Android for its newer models like the BlackBerry Priv, DTEK50, DTEK60 and the upcoming BlackBerry KEYone, there are still a number of BlackBerry 10 handsets that receive updates. A BlackBerry Knowledge Issue article pertaining to the version 10.3.3 update lists a number of problems with the software build:

  • Slow/poor performance
  • Menu items missing or slow to respond
  • Device temperature warmer than usual
  • Applications not opening
  • Unable to connect to wireless networks

As we said, BlackBerry is investigating the matter. The company does offer one workaround; if the issues persist for longer than 24 hours after the new build was initially installed, BlackBerry suggests that you should reload the software on the phone. First, though, BlackBerry wants you to wait for 24 hours to give the update a chance to settle in.

There are those who swear that BlackBerry 10 is the best mobile OS around, and there are those who would give up a lung or a testicle to own an Android powered BlackBerry Passport. BlackBerry has said that it will continue to support the platform. If you own a BlackBerry 10 phone, you are not yet orphaned.

As for BlackBerry 10.3.3, we will continue to monitor the situation and inform you when a fix is sent out.

"If you own a BlackBerry 10 phone, you are not yet orphaned." Smh.... Anyway, I can personally confirm that there are people that are experiencing these issues. The workaround does work, and I have personally NOT experienced any problems. But I certainly cannot speak for others, and I won't make excuses for this issue like "sht happens" like others do when their platform of choice experiences software issues (on a consistent basis, I might add). BlackBerry needs to get this issue fixed quickly. The workaround is fixing the issue, but they need to eliminate the issue entirely so the workaround won't be necessary.

Well now some people can't make excuses and call out a certain other company. This is what I was saying before, no one is exempt from software issues. Even the few that have a blackberry 10 device faces issues. "There are those who swear that BlackBerry 10 is the best mobile OS around," I think webOS was much better despite what less than a few say. And yes, I used to own a webOS device.

Meanestgenius and my comments hit the head of the nail. Here you are crying. Apple's iOS have more software issue with one version than BB10 ever had in its whole existence. BB10 and WebOS certainly better than your god iOS. You don't own any WebOS phone before. Stop the lie.

Lmao! +1 for the truth. Couldn't have said it better myself. The software issues on the millions of BB10 handsets in use pail in comparison to the issues that are ever prevalent on other companies OS's.

My first device was a second hand Pilot 5000, back in 1998. But my favorite mobile moment was walking out of the Sprint store with my new Palm Pre and experiencing the joy of webOS. The problem for webOS, Symbian Belle and BB 10 was that they were all good OS's that arrived a couple years to late to save their floundering creators.

With exception to the late, great company Palm, the other companies you referring to are alive and doing well. They even have branded phones in smartphone market through other companies that license their technology.

So whilst Nokia Symbian was my first Smartphone OS I have tried them all with the DELIBERATE exception of IOS Symbian owns a vast majority of phone patens and IOS pays NOKIA royalties for each device IOS runs on Symbians flaw is that it take 1000s of hours to code one basic touchscreen instruction, keypad easy peasy Nokia chose Microsoft Windows over Android for OS security On 20/05/2017 the 10.3.3 began to d/l after reading I cancelled it App developers only need to make minor changes for the Andriod version App to run on a BB 10 BB10 OS is QNXhttp://www.qnx.com/content/qnx/en.html?gclid=CPO-rvvdg9QCFQWVGwoduNoEDg Indeed BB10 is the "super secure" Android / with better RAM manegement. There has NOT been one monthly security update despite Stagecoach, So I do prefer BB10 over Android and feel betrayed as QNX is being developed yet BB are forced to use Andriod Finally I don't know the full story but Microsoft apparently made a pigs ear of W10 in wnating it to run natively on the Lumia 950 Windows 8 is fine no issues but when a company stops selling phones you know things have to be pretty bad with the S/W. We are down to TWO operating systems Nokia has licensed the name so it is NOT in the phone business as it would have chosen BB10 for security, rather than Android There are some nice touches still in the 4 year old BB Z10. There is a place for the BB10 as a secure business / goverment phone with like Apple just one issue per year My p[oint is whatever your android device, you would if choice prefer your phone running BB than Android, all thing remaining the same...

"I think webOS was much better despite what less than a few say. And yes, I used to own a webOS device" Mxy, no need to tell us what we already know. At this point, I think it's safe to assume that you'd think a freshly coiled out pile of dog poop is better than BlackBerry 10.

22. Mxyzptlk unregistered

Well I wouldn't have a problem with BB10 if meanest would stop being so dramatic about it.

So you're basing your entire ignorant troll episodes of BB10 on the fact that I correct your willful ignorance over it? In other words, you troll it just to get my attention. That's immature and pathetic. Thanks for admitting that I take up that much space in that teeny tiny head of yours.

My God. This guy just admit for everyone to see that he troll an entire OS because of you. You have been correct about him all along, Meanestgenius. This guy is baby that need your attention. You infect his thought too much. For someone to troll something because someone else like it is crazy person thIng. He obsessed with you. This guy need psychiatric help.

I should have known. You responded just as I thought you would. First of all, if you actually "read" my comments, you would see that I have said many times that I wouldn't mind a compact, all touch phone with the passport specs, at the time the passport had good specs. And then you're forgetting that I am pleased with the DTEK60 with the only caveat being that it's not universally unlocked. So no, I don't criticize blackberry because of you. But I DO have a problem when you attack and get butthurt about comments on blackberry. For the record, I've said positive things about blackberry before, but of course meanest still did what meanest does. And I haven't even started on his previous account, alphageek. Anyone else want to get hammered by the truth?

Lmao! It's too late for your backtracking, mxy. You just, and I quote: "posted onyesterday, 04:49ReportReply 22. Mxyzptlk (Posts: 15667; Member since: 21 Apr 2012) Well I wouldn't have a problem with BB10 if meanest would stop being so dramatic about it." That means EXACTLY what it says. That you troll BB10 because of me. You're so butthurt that I constantly put you in your place over your ignorant statements about BlackBerry, that you troll them. I have that much control over you. Lmao! And I'm not the only one that's seen it and commented on it. You're so obsessed with me that you create faux accounts like alphagenius and TheRealGeniusOne just to mock me and so you can be like me. That's pathetic. You can deflect and backtrack with your BS all you want, but you've already admitted why you troll BlackBerry, and you can't take it back, no matter how many lies you post about it now. Thank you for proving that I've been right about you all this time, and go seek that psychiatric help that you need. Lmao!

Wait...you only have a problem with it because Meanest is constantly putting you in your place? Your signature response greatly applies right about now. http://cdn.pophangover.com/wp-content/uploads/butthurt.jpg Funny...the one who always calls people butthurt, is in fact the most butthurt of them all. :')
