Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe starts getting Android 7.0 Nougat update

Although Asus may not have been that successful with its ZenFone 3 series in the United States because the phones arrived a bit too late, the Deluxe model seems to have caught up with sales since the Taiwanese company decided to provide users with the Android 7.0 Nougat update.

If you're rocking one of these expensive smartphones, you'll be pleased to know Asus has started to push Android 7.0 Nougat to the ZenFone 3 Deluxe. More specifically, the update is meant for model number ZS550KL, which is available in the United States as well.

Aside from the usual Android 7.0 Nougat changes like enhanced version of Doze Mode and split-screen app feature, Asus made some tweaks of its own.

For starters, the update removes the “Share Link” app and ShakeShake from ZenMotion. A couple of live wallpapers that aren't compatible with Android Nougat like Holo Spiral, Bubbles, Black Hole, and Phase Beam will be removed after the update.

Auto Wizard, Splendid, System update, and Flashlight shortcut apps will become redundant hence they will be deleted from all apps menu. If you've already upgraded Asus Flashlight from Google Play before updating to Android Nougat, you will still be able to launch the app from the all app menu.

According to Asus, the rollout should take about one week, but if you still don't get the update, you can force push it by heading to Settings / About / System update.
