Apple iPhone 4 wrestled with Barbie for the most popular item on eBay in 2010

EBay is compiling a list each year for the most popular items on everyone's favorite auction site. The list takes into account sales, as well as search trends, and this year the iPhone 4 topped the popularity contest with 1.63 million related items sold. A distant second came Barbie at 1.17 million sales, and, interestingly, there were a lot of items related to the World Cup 2010 - those cheap vuvuzelas had to come from somewhere, after all.

The iPad made it in the top 5, with 600 000 items sold. What's more impressive is that last year there have been no electronic gadgets on eBay's Top Shopped list, which comes to prove the exponential growth in popularity for Apple's finest this year. The iPhone 4 and Apple TV made it in the top 10 gadget list of Time magazine, where the iPad occupied the first place for 2010.
