One of the special badges awarded to those who put in at least 30-minutes of exercising on Earth Day
Saturday was Earth Day and Apple celebrated the event through the Apple Watch. Those who spent at least 30-minutes on Saturday by exercising, received a special achievement badge found in the Activity app. To qualify for the badge, users had to "run, walk, cycle, wheelchair or swim" for at least 30-minutes using the Apple smartwatch, or a third party app that sent the workout data to Health Kit.
This continues a trend that saw Apple offer special achievement badges to Apple Watch users during Thanksgiving. Keep in mind that it is always good to exercise away all of that turkey consumed on that holiday. And Apple also offered a "Ring in the New Year Challenge" in January.
You might have seen Apple's new ad for the
Apple iPhone 7 and
Apple iPhone 7 Plus that focused on how users can now slap stickers on iMessage. Stickers also figured prominently in the Apple Watch's Earth Day celebration. Those who did manage to keep moving for 30-minutes or more not only were awarded the aforementioned badges, but also gained access to special stickers that could be employed on messages sent via iMessage.
