Three issues on Apple Watch are fixed with update to watchOS 5.0.1
Apple rolled out watchOS 5.0.1 today to fix three issues involving the Apple Watch, including one that resulted in the timepiece inaccurately requesting that the user exercise for additional minutes. Another issue failed to give Apple Watch credit for standing up in the afternoon. Apple does this to prevent Watch owners from getting accustomed to sloth-like behavior. Both of these issues could have made it harder for an Apple Watch user to complete a ring. And perhaps the most important issue fixed by today's update is one that could have prevented the Apple Watch from charging.
Apple originally released watchOS 5 on September 17th. Among the changes, it adds tracking of some new activities including hiking and yoga. It also sets a pace for runners to let them know if they are running faster or slower than they expected. With watchOS 5, Apple Watch wearers can engage in a week long head-to-head running competition with a buddy. And the most anticipated feature of watchOS 5 turns the Apple Watch into a Walkie-Talkie.
To update the Apple Watch to watchOS 5.0.1, open the Apple Watch app on a paired iPhone and tap on My Watch. From there, go to General > Software Update and type in your passcode.
