Apple Store is no longer allowing customers to select the 8GB iPhone 3G for purchase
In the last couple of days we've seen how AT&T stores are no longer receiving additional shipments for the 8GB iPhone 3G model and Walmart's hasty price cut of the 16GB iPhone 3GS to $97 on contract. There is that underlying notion that an eventual new iPhone is about to embark on its journey as these two recent moves clearly substantiates its all too knowing reality. However, this time around we're being greeted to yet another surprise, but this time it's coming directly from the Apple Store. Perusing the Apple Store online, one will notice that the 8GB iPhone 3G is listed alongside its 3GS brothers and sisters. Although they share the same space, you'll instantly find the “select” button to be visibly missing from the 8GB iPhone 3G – which only is seen offered with the 3GS models. The telling signs are all there as this could usher in the end of the 3G model as we know it, but fortunately we can all look forward to something good happening in a couple of weeks to fill in that void.
