The AirPower wireless charging pad has finally entered production: report

The AirPower wireless charging pad has finally entered production: report
The AirPower charging mat is one of Apple’s most controversial products in recent history due to the company’s silence on its status. But now it seems as though it could finally be on the way.

After multiple delays and development issues, Hong Kong website ChargerLab has revealed (via MacRumors) that manufacturer Luxshare Precision, the company currently in charge of making AirPods and Apple’s USB-C cables, has finally kicked off AirPower production. This would suggest that previous reports of a release in the first quarter of 2019 were accurate.

To further back the whole situation up, the aforementioned publication cited a second industry source. According to this one, Pegatron will soon commence AirPower production too. More specifically, it seems devices will start rolling off the production line by January 21. This same source also revealed that the accessory features three separate layers of coil inside.

Going by this information, it seems likely that Apple will confirm the AirPower charging mat’s release at its annual March event. Here the company is also expected to announce its next-gen AirPods, an updated iPad, and a new iPad Mini. The Cupertino giant may also launch the wireless AirPods charging case, although information about this accessory is scarce.

I don’t think too many will jump to buy it initially, some dummiez might. I wonder what the price will be, since Apple has gotten chin checked by weaker sales, and thoze stocks are falling.

Could easily see them trying to get 199 for it.

Sheeple buy anything with an Apple logo on it, so it won't be DOA. However there is other wireless chargers that have dual charging already. Apple tends to overprice everything that has their logo on it. So that will determine how many they will sell.

I was an early adapter of the Galaxy watch that I had to return but still will praise when it can earn me likes, and I still have the Samsung dual charger even though it’s be unreliable, so I’ll defin be getting what Apple has to offer. I’m brutally honest and tell it like it is.

I hope it’s still as versatile and thin as Apple demonstrated. My money is ready - really excited for this. But will not buy if it’s over $160.

I’m thinking the same, possibly even $250. Apple is very greedy, and prices stupidly sometimes.

Apple is getting a slap in the face right now though. I will still say $149.99

I think Apple knows no one will buy it at over $200 - it’s just a glorified charger, for crying out loud. They have to keep it at $160 (as presented) to get any of these to sell.

It shouldn't be more then 60$ even for Apple standards.

They were charging $99 for a pencil.

My Apple Pencil was a 100 bucks (already obsolete and can’t even work with the iPhone). Don’t think even for a second, they won’t charge twice as much for this.

They charge 25 to 85 for dongles. There is no chance this is less than 200.

And $40 plus for a damn clear case, that’s $12 on Amazon.

Are u high , its a freaking charger , it should not go over 50 dollar You ( the ppl ) made apple ask for such pricese for the x xs xs-max . Keep buying thier low quality products which are full of engineering mistakes , ( mistakes which are kept for 3 or 4 generations of the said product ( most of them ) , and again its all because you ppl accept s**ty quality and never complain , and hence we got all the iphone gates , and macbook that keep breaking as designed

Around $150 is what I am thinking. Would not buy it anyways as a personal choice. But very happy to see/hear this finally coming out. I am sure there were good reasons why there was a delay.

Im getting three. One in the bedroom, one in the living and one in the kitchen. I love adding apple products in my house, so classy compared to other tech garbage products.

When someone brags like you do it means they don't have s**t and just want people to think they do.
