Android's Digital Wellbeing app gets an update
Google's Digital Wellbeing app is still in beta and can only be installed by Pixel users running Android 9 Pie. The feature tracks how often you use certain apps, the number of notifications you receive, and how often you check your phone. You can also set time limits for certain apps and also schedule a time of day for the Wind Down feature to take over. When that time arrives, the screen on your Android phone goes to grayscale and Do Not Disturb is enabled, blocking notifications.
Today, the app received an update that allows users to access Digital Wellbeing from their app drawer making it much easier to find. Previously, users had to scroll down their Pixel's settings menu to find and open the app. To set this up, go to Settings and tap on Digital Wellbeing. Scroll down to the very bottom and right there is a toggle that reads Show in the app list. Toggle it on and the icon will appear in the app drawer. From there, you can move it to your home screen if you so desire.
The update also adds a Quick Settings toggle allowing you to activate Grayscale with a tap (you must add it using the Quick Settings Edit screen) and a link to the eye saving Night Light feature has been added to the app's Wind Down page. In addition, visual improvements have been made to the Digital Wellbeing Dashboard.
