Alleged packaging confirms iPhone 5 name

Latest evidence discovered on Apple's very own web site suggests that the iPhone 5 will be called exactly that. On the other hand, alleged iPhone 5 packaging revealed just days ago appears to confirm that Apple has chosen "The new iPhone" as a moniker for its next-gen smartphone. Which rumor should we trust? Well, we aren't sure either, but the latest leak appears to confirm the iPhone 5 name. The photo that you see here was posted on Chinese web site Weibo, and although it got taken down only minutes after, the folks at HDblog managed to copy it and share it with the world.

However, keep in mind that what looks like legitimate iPhone 5 packaging could also be an elaborate fake, despite it looking quite trustworthy. Thankfully, it won't be too long before we know the truth. The Apple press event begins in less than an hour, so stay tuned!
