AT&T finally updates the Moto G6 Play to Android 9.0 Pie
Even though Motorola has dropped almost at the bottom of the list of manufacturers that are regularly updating their smartphones, the Moto handsets are still getting Android updates sooner or later.

The AT&T Moto G6 Play is one of the phones that haven't been updated to Android 9.0 Pie, but not due to Motorola's fault. As many of you probably know by now, US carriers must test these updates thoroughly before release and that takes time.

However, it took AT&T several months to bring Android 9.0 Pie to Moto G6 Play owners. The smartphone received the update in the US back in April and many carriers have already released it.

If you've bought your Moto G6 Play from AT&T, expect to receive Android 9.0 Pie any day now. The carrier has already confirmed the smartphone is getting the update, which also contains the September security patch.

According to the changelog, Android 9.0 Pie for Moto G6 Play weighs in at 1.12GB, so make sure you have enough free storage on the phone before attempting to download and install it.
