Windows Phone 8 handset by Huawei to be revealed next week

Ever since Windows Phone 8 was officially announced, we knew that Huawei was planning on joining the party with a smartphone of its own. And it looks like it won't be long until we get to see the company's first WP8 handset as that is rumored to be announced on September 25.

Dubbed Huawei Ascend W1, the handset will be available in a variety of colors, including black, white, blue, and pink. It will take a while before anyone gets to check it out first hand, however, as it is scheduled to hit the market in November or December, according to Chinese Windows Phone fan site WINP. China, Europe, and the U.S. are among the markets where the smartphone is going to be available. As far as pricing goes, no specific figures have been revealed, although the Huawei Ascend W1 is said to be positioned in the same category with the Nokia Lumia 920.

And that's pretty much all we have for now, with the looks and hardware configuration of the Huawei Ascend W1 remaining a mystery. If the rumored announcement date turns out to be correct, however, it won't be long until we know what Huawei has in store for us.

eehhh... ascend line? maybe it will confuse consumers since its all android phone! they should be like samsung, galaxy for android, wave for bada and now ativ for windows phone (but still like the focus and omnina line)

I would never buy anything from a brand with that name. They can only talk about how awesome their products are and its already september and no sign of the Ascend D Quad, i wanna see if their K3V2 is as powerfull as they say.

yeah but where f*ck is Huawei Ascend D quad? I have waited for that phone from february., my all friends got already s3 and some of them already pre orderd iphone 5. Still rocking with my sensation though.. I guess I buy right away Optimus G, when it comes..
