Verizon officially getting the Nokia Lumia 822, prices it at $99.99
Verizon's line-up for the end of the year is starting to take shape now, and not only is the carrier going to embrace Windows Phone 8, but it will actually offer at least two handsets running Microsoft's OS. While the role of the high-end phone will be taken by HTC's Windows Phone 8X, the more affordable offering will be supplied by Nokia. It has now been made official that starting this Fall, Verizon Wireless customers will be able to purchase the Nokia Lumia 822 - a mid-range Windows Phone 8 smartphone.

The Lumia 822 will feature some decent hardware under the hood, including a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8960 dual-core chipset with Adreno 225, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB internal storage and an 8 MP rear camera. Of course, the handset will also feature all of Nokia's software add-ons like the Drive+ turn-by-turn navigation with offline maps, City Lens, Music and so on. The screen of the Lumia 822 will measure 4.3 inches and will have a pretty mediocre resolution of 480x800 pixels. Still, this will result in a pixel density of 217 ppi, which isn't that bad.

No specific release date has been announced as of now, but if the latest rumors are to be believed, the phone should be available starting November 8. The Lumia 822 will be sold at the reasonable price of $99.99.
