The real HTC One mini 2 shows up (in silver, grey and gold variants)

We recently showed you what was believed to be the HTC One M8 mini, aka HTC One mini 2, but it turns out that the real design of the handset is only now being revealed. @evleaks today posted an image that allows us to take a look at the One mini 2 in three color versions: grey, silver, and gold (the same color variants that the larger One M8 has).

While the new image confirms that the One mini 2 does not come with a Duo rear camera, it also shows that the previous renders of the handset weren’t truly accurate (although not too far off, either). The upcoming mini smartphone has only one LED flash next to its rear camera, and its front speakers are slightly redesigned when compared to those seen on the original HTC One M8.

The One mini 2 should feature a 4.5-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixels, Android 4.4 KitKat, Sense 6.0 UI, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.4GHz, 1GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage space. It’s said that its rear camera is a 13MP one. HTC could announce the new handset later this month - we’ll let you know when it happens anyway.

Lol, that is just how the weekends are. But this thing is tragic, it can't really compete with the Z1 compact (wherever that is) and it might be bigger than the moto X based on how large the mini was last time.

Poor HTC

"The design is so horrible"
You are definately drunk! First of all it is best in terms of design and build quality! Atleast better then samung and its cheapo plastic build quality and flop design
"Sluggish sense"
Says the guy who uses laggy and ugly touchwiz!

Considering you a Samsung fanboy, i'm pretty sure you are completely biased to everything not Samsung........... you must have drooled when they released smartphones like the Galaxy beam 2 thinking, "They put a f***ing projector in such a beautiful chassis, I LOVE YOU!!"

Are you always this stupid? It is ok to like a brand, but not ok to be a maniac about it.
Anyways, I think the only part HTC screwed up this phone was the ram, 2gb ram would've been a much better choice. The cpu is understandable, since you have a 720 screen, aa for the rest of the specs I think it is a great choice for those who don't want a big phone.

Wow I was just sitting next to a man ago that has this phone at first about 1hr 30mins I thought it was the htc one mini but its the new one except it has yellow accents on the side and yellow lines on the back instead of the black ones in the PIC above.

Also it has on screen keys so it can't be the original one mini. Probably a variant of it I want to take a PIC but scared I might get caught lol. I know that it gives you no reason to believe me!

Update: I have taken a couple of pics now but don't know how to upload them on this post lol!

Hey, Klamba92! You seem to have forgotten to attach the images in your tip. Try again (hit Tip Us on the home page, and make sure to attach the images), or just send them to me at victor dot h AT phonearena dot com. Thanks!

this is exactly how the m8 should have been: no ugly yet useless duo camera. i really like this, wish it had at least a SD600 though, as it works perfectly on the 1080p m7 and would even be better on this 720p panel. oh well, HTC will never make a good all-rounder.

This is one of the best looking phone of all time but the processor let it down big time, with even an S4 Pro or S600 this could've got a 8.5/10

Not bad, but not good enough.. Processor is too old, and ram insanely too low..
It seems HTC choose an average way for their mini range, which is obviously better than Samsung's crappy mini Galaxy devices (mid range stuff, and I'm nice), but still worse, specs wise, than Sony.. Their Desire made my days a long time ago, but now there's still something wrong with their phones.. that's sad.. :-/

I would go for the Desire 816 just for the bigger screen and extra RAM.

This mini 2 is far better than the mini 1 design wise.i dont like the plastic rim htc put on the mini 1...this one is beautiful! If only htc do what sony did on z1 compact then this will go head to head with the z1 compact..or maybe it will outsell the m8.

I will tell a secret. Even Steve Jobs when he was alive read GSM Arena and Phone Arena comments. The HTC will lose millions of the sales because of bad bad very bad super bad 4 megapixel camera and non replaceable battery. The non replaceable battery means the phone will only last 2.5 or maximum 3 years. That is why I only buy the Samsung. Apple is different story because it is Apple. Even the Apple fans hate non replaceable battery.
