The best result was from the Nokia Lumia 920 (R), while the BlackBerry Z10 (L) had the worst

A test was performed on Wednesday to see just how well the BlackBerry Z10 camera would snap pictures under low-light conditions. The other phones in the test were some of the best shooters on other platforms such as the Apple iPhone 5, the Nokia Lumia 920 and the Samsung Galaxy S III. The subject was an Assassin's Creed statue which was photographed in dim light without the use of flash although low-light settings were used where available.

The results? As you can see for yourself, the Nokia Lumia 920 was the hands-down winner followed by the Samsung Galaxy S III, the Apple iPhone 5 and the BlackBerry Z10. The picture that came from the Z10 is so dark, there is no hope of figuring out what the subject is. Keep in mind that this is just one test though, and besides, you probably would use the flash in such a situation.

The Nokia Lumia 920 looks as if you turned a light on.

920 it is...
I like dark pictures, and that is the image by 920 produced. Others images were 'too' dark for my taste.

I am not the least bit surprise by this test. Clearly Nokia Lumia 920 (My actual device) won hands down in this test.

I find it however in poor taste that these reviewers couldn't give Blackberry BB10, one day. One showcase day to have the spotlight shine on BB10. Jeez just let Blackberry BB10 have its moment to shine atleast. Is that so much to ask people, good lord!!

its is not a Red Cross organisation to "just let Blackberry BB10 have its moment to shine atleast. Is that so much to ask people, good lord!!"

Photos are importand. They are our memories. That is why Lumia 920 is a good reson. However, there are other factors like No FM Radio in L920 to don't have the device.
Every device is suted for someone, to have one mobile phone that is good for all, i think is not possible. to many factors.

Yes! I want a phone that takes pictures of the dark. *sarcasm* This is not why I own the 920. However, this is Blackberry's day so I agree. 1 day and we're already testing its abilities to take pictures in the dark. What's next? Measuring how blue the white pages look on its browser?

Yeah . Who in the Hell would take a pic in the dark , after turning the Flash off ? ? ? It completely looks as if there is some extra ambient light in the Nokia pic . ? . That's why they added a Flash ! . . Hello ! ? ! because who takes pix in the dark , with no Flash . ? . "creepers" ! . .

what if you will take a photo of a scenery in the dark. can the led flash reach far distances? hello? ! !?!

flash are for near distances only. and produces ugly photos. with shiny , oily faces.

As a former owner of a L920 (1 month) I never ran around taking pictures in the dark... And my daylight pics were not as good as my SG3 or my wife's iP5.

there is no surprise that nokia will perform the best! again, BlackBerry isnt that good with its camera ever since...

and im still sure that nokia will keep on innovating on camera department since this will be their one of the few advantage on the WP devices made by nokia...especially that Nokia EOS is coming!

Blackberry better stick to their fixed-focus camera modules like that one on the Bold 9900..that's flagship model right there..lol

no, why are you so negative about this? what I'm trying to say is that blackberry can still innovate in camera department but still a long way to go compare to Nokia

there is no doubt that lumia 920 can perform the best among the competition, however BB Z10's camera and lense might not be like 920 or any other (iPhone 5 you say, technically its sony's) but it has its own trick with its "time shift" which is very useful.

so i hope BlackBerry will be better with their camera next time, im pretty sure that z10 isnt the flagship since it will be avialable first unlike the q10 that is still on june (from leaks) and also a lot of reviewers keep on saying that z10 is plastic, unlike the q10 which has premium finish all over it, and since q10 is stil pending to arrive till june (from leaks) so at that time, maybe BlackBerry is prepping the so rumored quad core "Blackberry laguna" and maybe this one has the preium finish all over it as well!

Nokia has Scalado in their cameras.. Blackberry must have licensed the tech from Nokia/Scalado to have TimeShift in the Z10..

yeah I know that but Nokia innovate long before blackberry did in camera, an scalado is a software so we'll still see what can they bring

BB (and iP and GS III) owners could get a Sony RX100 to complement their phone. Then their photos would rule. ;-)
