Sprint's Samsung Galaxy S4 pre-orders delayed at Best Buy
Best Buy has sent out an email to those who pre-ordered the Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4 from the big box retailer, telling them that their phones will not be shipping until May 9th at the earliest, and May 20th in the worse case scenario. Best Buy is giving those who pre-ordered the device until the date that it ships to change their mind and cancel the order. Once it ships, Best Buy will assume that those who ordered the phone still want the device and will send out tracking information so that those who pre-ordered the phone can follow its trek.

While the Sprint version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 was available for some Sprint customers to pick up this past weekend directly from the carrier, we do know that the carrier has a supply issue with the device which explains the email from Best Buy. For the sake of those who pre-ordered the phone from Best Buy, we hope that the unit gets shipped closer to May 9th than May 20th.

"We're sorry, but the fulfillment of your recent pre-order is taking longer than expected. We expect it to arrive between May 9 and May 20. To keep you informed of its delivery, we'll send tracking information once the item has shipped.

If you prefer, you can cancel this order at any time. To do so, please call us at 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289). If possible, please have your order number handy.

If we don't hear from you before the order is shipped, we'll assume you still want this item and accept this delay.

Once again, we're sorry for this inconvenience, and we’ll do our best to make things right."-Best Buy

The last two lines of the statement almost literally translated into them saying "Hey, we're sorry we're running behind, but you won't hear us complain about selling you the item if you don't say anything"

No surprise here. What was the original promised date?

Best Buy hasn't being having a promised date the past couple years because the OEMs never have enough to sell on their launch date.

I do not see how it is Best Buy's fault that Samsung had such a supply restraint when they released the phone. Seems to me like it was a premature release and maybe they should of waited till all of the retailers could have some phones to sell before they release the phone.

They just pre-ordered too late, I pre-order the first day it was available for pre-order (actually pretty late in the day that day) and I was able to pick up my white Sprint S4 on Sat 4/27 the first day it was released.

Just an FYI for people looking to get either the One or S4 on AT&T. If you are starting a new plan or adding a line on a mobile share plan you get a $50 gift card at Best Buy. Also have them price match WalMart. The One is $158 and the s4 is $168.
