Sony's new UXP NXT UI appears on video for Sony Xperia S
A leaked video of the Sony Xperia S shows off the manufacturer's new UI which is being called UXP NXT. There are major changes to Timescape, the gallery and the music player and a new lock screen is also revealed. Among the features of the UI shown on the video is an FM Radio, the device's set-up guide, and a calculator similar to the one on iOS, that turns from basic features to a scientific calculator in landscape mode.

The Sony Xperia S runs on Android 2.3 and is expected to be launched in Europe early next month. An update to Android 4.0 should take place shortly afterward. The Sony Xperia S is armed with a special coating to repel dirt, and a fast charging battery system and its cousin, the Sony Xperia ion, is expected to hit the States via a launch by AT&T. That event should take place at the end of the current quarter.

Sony will be cooking up some Alphabet Soup at the end of this month as the Sony Xperia S, Sony Xperia P and Sony Xperia U are all expected to strut their stuff in Barcelona at MWC 2012. And of course, we will be there providing you with the most complete and up-to-date coverage of the expo.

But we digress. Take a look at UXP NXT in the video below and let us know what you think by dropping a comment in the box below.

"And of course, we will be their.........".

I just wish writers could actually spell, knew grammar, and would read over and double-check their work before posting.

Hm, kinda confusing situation.
They are launching this great UI, but the phone will still run gingerbread, when It's out.
I hope this will stay on android 4 also.
And I sure hope they change the name of UI :p

From what I've seen it's very temping to move from WP (my current interface fave) though functionality would have to match the looks (which for me, WP still has the edge)

in which universe do u think WP has more functionality than Android??!!! :O
