Sony Xperia T2 Ultra alternatives: Nokia Lumia 1320, Asus Zenfone 6 and more

Sony’s new Xperia T2 Ultra isn’t available yet, but it should hit shelves in the near future, likely starting the coming months. Sony claims that the Xperia T2 Ultra will “lead” the mid-range large-screen smartphone category “through its combination of advanced display and camera technologies.” Sure enough, the device’s 6-inch IPS display only has 720 x 1280 pixels (thus a 245 ppi density), but the Triluminos and Mobile Bravia technologies should help deliver a pleasant user experience. As for the 13MP camera found on the back of the T2 Ultra, this is presented as being the "best in its class."

The new Xperia also features a respectable quad-core 1.4GHz Snapdragon 400 processor, LTE, NFC, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal memory, MicroSD card support, and a 3,000 mAh battery. All this is packed into a nice looking, 7.7mm-thin slab with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean on board. Naturally, we’ll have to review the T2 Ultra before concluding if it is indeed a leader among its peers. Until then, we thought that presenting some of its alternatives would be a good idea.

Since the T2 Ultra sports a large 6-inch screen, we obviously had to narrow down the list of alternatives to include only similarly-sized devices. But that doesn’t necessarily mean the list is short.

Sony stated that the Xperia T2 Ultra was designed “specifically with customers from emerging markets in China, the Middle East, Africa and the Asia Pacific rim in mind” - however, we’ll also see it in other parts of the world. We’re hearing that the Xperia T2 Ultra will cost €399 in Europe. Assuming that the phablet will also be released in the US, it’s probably going to cost around $400 there. This being said, let’s see what other phablets (or large smartphones) you could buy for that kind of money, or less.
