What would happen if all the apps we love and use in our everyday lives suddenly stopped functioning out of thin air? Well, simply put, a true appocalypse.

This is what Apple's opening video spot just before WWDC kicked off depicts, and it's a telltale for our new reality which is fully dependent on the software and gadgets we have in our pockets, vehicles, and homes.

Albeit funny and light-hearted, the video spot conveys a deeper, grimmer message - we are so over-reliant on technology that our world as we know it will crumble before our eyes if humanity's software suffers an ill fate, perish the thought.
