Motorola Shamu splashes down in India; not a Sea World in sight

If you're a regular PhoneArena reader, you've seen us discuss an unreleased phone from Motorola code named Shamu. This could be the Nexus 6, or it could be an Android Silver device. No matter how you slice it, the specs point to a top-shelf model with a 1440 x 2560 display, a quad-core Snapdragon 805 CPU and an Adreno 420 handling the graphics. The phone apparently will sport a pair of stereo speakers on front, a 13MP rear camera and a 2.1MP front-facing shooter. Some of the specs from various leaks don't match up, which makes us anxious for some more solid information.

What we have for you today, is a chart from Zauba. This is the website that details import and export information for India. And as we can see on the chart, back on August 20th, a pair of Motorola Shamu protoypes were imported into India for demo purposes. The information also revealed a model number for the device, the Motorola XT1112.

According to the site, each Shamu handset has a declared value of $578 USD (34,982 Rupees). Hopefully, whatever Motorola is doing with the handsets in India, is a task successfully completed. This way, the handset moves to the next step it needs to complete before it gets unveiled. By the way, we should point out that the phones were sent to India from the U.S.
