Motorola's Shamu arrives in India

If you're a regular PhoneArena reader, you've seen us discuss an unreleased phone from Motorola code named Shamu. This could be the Nexus 6, or it could be an Android Silver device. No matter how you slice it, the specs point to a top-shelf model with a 1440 x 2560 display, a quad-core Snapdragon 805 CPU and an Adreno 420 handling the graphics. The phone apparently will sport a pair of stereo speakers on front, a 13MP rear camera and a 2.1MP front-facing shooter. Some of the specs from various leaks don't match up, which makes us anxious for some more solid information.

What we have for you today, is a chart from Zauba. This is the website that details import and export information for India. And as we can see on the chart, back on August 20th, a pair of Motorola Shamu protoypes were imported into India for demo purposes. The information also revealed a model number for the device, the Motorola XT1112.

According to the site, each Shamu handset has a declared value of $578 USD (34,982 Rupees). Hopefully, whatever Motorola is doing with the handsets in India, is a task successfully completed. This way, the handset moves to the next step it needs to complete before it gets unveiled. By the way, we should point out that the phones were sent to India from the U.S.

The remainder of 2014 is going to be quite interesting. I'm not sure what is at the top of my personal phone list now.

One of these: Nexus 5 2014/Nexus 6, Sony Z3 Compact, Note 4.

That is declared value, not suggested retail cost. In the US, I would guess the Z3 Compact should be around $600 retail, the Note 4 around $800, and about $400 for the new Nexus.

I hope Moto knows not to keep killer whales like Shamu in captivity... that is what make them hurt/kill their jailers.

I'm really not interested in hearing about how people aren't interested in this device if it's going to be 5.9". If you're not interested, then move along. I'm sure you can find this things you are interested in to comment on on this site. If there was any confusion whatsoever, this comment is directed squarely at comment #3.

Come on, man. We are not that 100% sure yet that the device is gonna be 5.9". So there could still be a chance the device comes with a smaller screen, which he may be interested in. So yea, he doesn't really have to find something else because this Shamu is not yet that device he's not interested in.

xD

Wait, what!? I mean isn't that the purpose of comments section? To express our thoughts on the article or particular device?
Also if you aren't interested in reading other's comments them here's a trick- simply don't read them- MAGIC!!

Wow, man. Such an insightful comment. Thank you for that. The point is that coming to a comments section just to say you're not interested in a device adds absolutely nothing to the conversation. You might as well have just said nothing. But, I wouldn't expect you, someone who has posted over 3000 comments in 6 months, to know anything about making comments that matter.

Why do people still look to Zauba as a legit source for leaks? Who the hell labels an imported package of an unannounced shipment as 'shamu phones'?!?!?!?!?
