Motorola PHOTON 4G getting a software update

Motorola is recommending that owners of the PHOTON 4G download this update for peak performance. In addition to the newly added Google Talk with video chat, the smartphone will now support the Motorola laptop dock and the webtop application. Some bug fixes are also present with this update, such as improved audio when connected to a car stereo system while the handset is charging. The PHOTON 4G will also be able to take improved panoramic photos.
If you haven’t already received the notification that the update is available then you can manually download it. Go to the “About Phone” option in the settings menu and select “System Updates.” It will notify you that an update is available and you can proceed to download over Sprint’s network or over WiFi. Motorola recommends that your battery is at least 50% charged to ensure a successful update and installation. Check out the update for the PHOTON 4G and tell us what you think.

Downloading now! I haven't had any problems with my phone so I don't know how it could get any better. Love my Photon!

Works very very well. I just tested video chat over 3G and it was outstanding....especially when I switched to the rear-facing camera.

I can't wait to get this phone, Sprint said they will only move my line up from Nov 1st to Oct 18th. So this Tuesday will be looking very nice once I get the Photon and update it and start playing around with it.

Evo 3D is one of the best phones on the market, but nobody talks about it. I have it and for a standoff in almost every other front, the 3D and HTC Sense which gets updates like Ice Cream Sandwich faster than MotoBlur should be enough to put it over the top (Sent from Evo 3D)

All three of them are good phones but yes by far the Epic Touch is far superior.

This is fantastic. Didn't know that Google talk wasn't supported until now, so this is useful information. Got a few people interested in the Photon today. It's a great looking and feeling device.

Why is every single Motorola phone so amazingly buggy? I work for Verizon and I am so sick and tired of helping people fix Droid X2s... and don't get me started on the disaster we call the Bionic...

If you're responsible for fixing problems with phones, your experience is going to be skewed toward thinking they suck because you only ever see the phones with problems.

U checked reviews lately? The photon is by far the way to go. All 3I are awesome phones, but photon still has advantage.

Have a photon 4g. Fine if all you do is text but everything else sucks, bough it for phone calls and it is a piece of crap. If I try and call my wife I usually go right to phone mail and maby get the msg next day. Not good in this day and age. My old no function verizon phone worked 100 percent better but can also say Verizon sucks to. Just keep paying the bill!

Have a photon 4g, how about trying to talk to someone with a 5 second delay. Welsome to new modern tech crap. Have to keep telling party I am talking to, hang up, will call back, maby will work better. Just keep texting and don't wory about actually talking to someone. Don't try and use it as a cell phone, just keep texting and watch out you don't kill yourself of worse, someone else.

Every time I try and select the Sprint link in the left menu my web site goes down, maby the powers are overiding my access. Keep paying and praying your piece of crap wil power up. buy the way (Sniggly) left verizon after 15 years, it was cellular one before they got bought out, they suck to, calle about calls going directly to voice mail and have the same problem with sprint. Example, you are driving down the highway and your wife is behind you, you come up on a radar trap and call your wife to warn her. Call goes to voice mail, maby she will get the msg tomorrow. We can put people on the moon 20 years ago, making a simple phone call dosen't work. Ok sprint sucks!
