Meizu MX3 runs Ubuntu as well as Android
Pictures posted on the official Meizu Weibo website show the Meizu MX3 running Ubuntu. What does this mean? Consider that just the other day, we told you that Canonical founder Mark Shuttleworth said that a high-end Ubuntu Phone would be coming this year from a well-known manufacturer. At the same time, we told you that according to Canonical community manager Jono Bacon, there will be various models made for specific regions and specific carriers.

The Meizu MX3 is expected to be launched in the U.S. in the third quarter, and while we mentioned that Meizu could be working on an Ubuntu flavored handset, the video and pictures make it appear that the MX3 will be that handset. The Android version of the phone is expected to come with Android 4.2.2. out of the box.

Meizu's official Weibo account also includes a video of Ubuntu Touch running on the MX3. The video, and a photo, can be found below.
