LG Optimus LTE: 1 million sold, mostly in Korea
The LG Optimus LTE, the company’s flagship Android handset, has just hit 1 million units sold across the globe. This is good news for LG which has been struggling to offer a successful high-end device recently as Samsung and Apple have dominated sales in the segment with phones like the Galaxy S II and the iPhone 4S. While the 1 million sold Optimus LTEs pales in comparison to the 37 million iPhones Apple just sold this last quarter, it’s still an achievement for the Korean phone maker.

Actually, a huge part of the sales comes from Korea where LG sold 600,000 Optimus LTE in the three months from October 2011. The handset is now available in the US, Canada, South Korea and Japan.

The LG Optimus LTE has the specs to match the current crop of high-end Androids - it features LTE and comes with a huge 4.5-inch high-res display. The Optimus LTE is actually the first phone to launch with an HD display, and additionally it also sports a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and an 8-megapixel camera.
